The Rutgers Discovery Informatics Institute (RDI2) is a unit of the Department of Computer Science in the School of Arts and Sciences. The overarching goal of RDI2 is to establish a university-wide comprehensive and internationally competitive Computational and Data-Enabled Science and Engineering program at Rutgers University based on the integration of research, education, and infrastructure that stimulates new thinking and new practices essential to addressing grand challenges in science, engineering, society and industry.

Each fellowship appointment will be for one year and comes with $30,000 towards GA support, with potential for renewal. Through this award, the Rutgers Discovery Informatics Institute supports students working on multi-disciplinary collaborative computational and data-enabled research projects in science and engineering, with a specific research focus on Big Data and Extreme Scale computing.
The 2018-2019 Fellows will be recognized during the Rutgers Discovery Informatics Institute Research Working Group event on April 19 9:30 in CoRE room 701.

RDI2 Director Manish Parashar Speaks at “Technology and Innovation in Agriculture” Seminar
RDI2’s director, Manish Parashar, spoke at a special seminar co-hosted by the Department of Agricultural, Food and Resource Economics and NJAES Office Of Economic Development at Rutgers titled “Technology and Innovation in Agriculture” on March 23. The growth of digital data and the Internet of Things coupled with advancements in computational power for processing data have transformed the field of agriculture. In his talk, Parashar explored the role of advanced cyberinfrastructure in agriculture and the challenges and opportunities that come with it. Additionally, Parashar presented the ongoing projects at RDI2 related to cyberinfrastructure.
